This goes out to all of my super fans!
I was playing my guitar the other day and created a chord pattern that sounded a little Irish. While playing, I started thinking of Irish lullabies and how it would be fun to make a second part to the song. I started dreaming of a guy who maybe didn't get the girl like he wanted. Keeping his hopes up and his head high he gets back out there. This is what I have come up with so far.
*note: This is a live recording from my basement on the first take. Don't judge the sound quality to harshly as It's not the final product...*
(if you have an idea on how to make a better transition from the bridge to the outro let me know)
Chord progression: D, F#, G, A
Lyrics:
I thought that I had finally found the one for life.
But it turns out that I wasn't her kind of guy.
She said that she had fun the other night.
but she blamed it on the drinks and the Irish lullabies.
Oh my father always said. I wouldn't find my Mrs. in a bar.
But I guess he was right, I should have listened that night. But instead I fell for her over Irish Lullabies.
Oh I wonder if those deep blue eyes. Are gazing at another guy tonight.
When your kissing on your gin. I hope you think of me.
So I'll go a sing to another tonight. And she'll fall those Irish lullabies.
Yes I'll go and sing to another tonight. And she'll fall for me.
(if you have an idea on how to make a better transition from the bridge to the outro let me know)
So li-de-di-de-di-di, li-de-di-de-di-di. She's falling for me, over Irish Lullabies.
It's short and sweet. I'm hoping I'll have it hammered out by St. Patrick's day 2021
